A kuksa is traditionally carved as a single piece with the handle attached, rather than glued or fitted on afterward, following a Finnish and broader Nordic tradition of hand-carved drinking cups.
This one comes in three hole styles — a single opening, a double opening, or a "trunk cup" profile — all carved from beechwood on the same basic kuksa shape.
Features
- Solid beechwood, hand-carved — food-safe, with the handle carved as part of the same piece
- Three style options: single-hole, double-hole, or trunk-cup profile
- Traditional Nordic kuksa shape — a single-piece carved cup rather than a turned or molded one
Who It's For
Suits coffee or tea drinkers who like the look and feel of a hand-carved cup over a ceramic mug, or anyone drawn to Nordic and Scandinavian design traditions specifically. Expect grain and carving detail to vary cup to cup.
Care Instructions
- Wipe with a soft, damp cloth after use and dry immediately
- Don't submerge it or run it through the dishwasher — standing water compromises the wood over time
- Rub with food-safe mineral oil once a month to keep the grain vibrant
- Store in a dry spot, away from direct sunlight
